This picspam is a tribute to Clark's wardrobe. I was working on my "Fashion" vid and it started to make me think of Dr Seuss. So with all apologies...
One shirt, two shirt
Red shirt, blue shirt
Black shirt, blue shirt
Old shirt, new shirt
Some are red and some are blue.
Some are old and some are new.
Some are sad and some are glad.
And some are very, very bad.
One shirt
The one shirt is usually white or a tight T-shirt. With any other shirt, you can never be certain there isn't a second shirt hidden under there. The white shirt is usually used to symbolize purity or vulnerability. It can be sad or glad but never bad.
Two shirt
Wearing a shirt under a shirt is still probably Clark’s default, even if it’s not always apparent since he tends to keep his dress shirts tightly buttoned.
Red shirt
Lots of red shirts! However, the fact that Bizarro came into existence wearing a red shirt proves that Clark’s affinity for blue extends to his DNA.
Blue shirt
Black shirt
Prior to season 9, a black shirt meant Kal and usually meant trouble! Strange that Clark’s most heroic moment should be associated with it.
Old shirt
All the plaids can probably be considered old shirts. I wonder how often he has to replace his superhero red, blue and black T-shirts?
New shirt
Party clothes and his Daily Planet wardrobe fall into this category.
Sad shirt
Glad shirt
Yes, the absence of a shirt makes me for one very glad.
Bad shirt
Note that the shirt with the green tie is ‘bad’ because Clark was forced into it as part of Jonathan’s political makeover.
Credits: S1-8 screencaps by me, S9 from Home of the Nutty. A few episode stills from kryptonsite and the CW.
Why are they sad and glad and bad? I don’t know. Go ask your dad.
